Tuna Saku Steaks

(Item #71) 12-14 sushi grade, thick cut Ahi Tuna Saku Steaks (22 x 3.5oz servings).

Ahi Tuna has a mild, meaty flavour and is light pink to red in colour. Sealand's wild caught Tuna Saku Steaks are thick and have been precision cut from the centre of the tuna loin, specifically for the grill. These Individually Quick Frozen (iQF) sushi grade Yellowfin (Ahi) tuna saku steaks can also be used for sashimi or quickly seared rare. Be careful not to overcook, or the tuna steaks could become less moist and flavourful.

Best Tuna!

I had Vlado over at my place for a meat/seafood showing and went with this Tuna and it was a great choice! BY FAR the best tuna I have ever had... and that says a lot with consideration to the sushi grade tuna in Vancouver. I will definitely be purchasing again.

The best tuna we've ever had!

Vlado sold us a pack of tuna steaks and we broke them out for our guests on Saturday. We ate them raw as sashimi and threw some on the barbecue. They were divine!
I think we may have even preferred them raw in their natural state. The product these guys have is so much better quality than what you can get at big box stores.
It's great value. We highly recommend them.

Best Ways to Cook

We recommend that all our fish products be thawed out of packaging for 24 hours in the refrigerator prior to cooking (unless otherwise stated). Give one of these simple cooking methods a try today.

Grill

How to Grill Tuna

thawed tuna steaks with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Place steaks on grill and close lid. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until the outside is seared and the inside remains rare. Slice and serve.
Pan Fry

How to Pan Fry Tuna

Preheat a heavy non-stick skillet over medium heat until hot, for about 5 minutes. A very hot pan delivers the best seared tuna. Season tuna and place in the hot skillet. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until the outside is seared and the inside remains rare. Slice and serve.

Cooking times and temperatures may vary based on the method of preparation and the thickness of the fish. Test for doneness with a meat thermometer.
